Profile
Paul practises across a range of areas, but has a particular focus on medico-legal matters where he utilises his past experience and training as a doctor to his clients’ advantage, He has also acted on some of New Zealand’s most high profile health and safety matters including the Mangatepopo Tragedy in 2008, the 2011 Auckland Gas Explosion, and the Pike River Royal Commission of Inquiry.
Throughout Paul’s legal career he has appeared as counsel in all levels of the New Zealand judicial system, including the Court of Appeal and Supreme Court.
Paul is regularly instructed to act for DHBs, private hospitals, health professionals and insurers, as well as a range of other corporate clients and individuals who value his clear and practical advice in addition to his advocacy in a court or alternative dispute resolution setting.
Paul accepts instructions through solicitors, but is also able to act on a number of matters without an instructing solicitor in certain areas.
